Application for performers

Application submission rules:

  1. We accept applications by email ONLY:
    1. In your application you should write a short text about yourself and attach several photos for the preview.
    1. If you are planning to take part in RopeFest for the first time, then in addition we ask you to describe your experience in bondage and public performances, give the names of events where you have performed and their organizers. If possible, we ask you to send video (or video links) of your performances.

Conditions of participation in the show program:

  1. Your performance must be above all and mainly about shibari (using the technique of shibari)
  2. If you are planning to use additional manipulations (not using a rope) or additional equipment, please inform the organizers in advance.
  3. Length of performance can be no more than 30-35 minutes.
  4. Stage equipment consists of a standard frame with the span of 3 meters between the stands and the size of functional mat of 3×2 meters. Any necessary equipment can be attached to the crossbar (points, rings, bamboo). Side stands can also be used for action (pulling).
  5. Music must be prepared as ONE MP3 track (please try to use maximum bitrate).
  6. Lighting composition will be fairly simple, as the location is not a theatre of a concert hall. Therefore, please do not count on complex lightning
  7. You can use the dressing room one hour before the performance and half an hour afterwards. During the rest of the time the dressing room must be used only by those who are preparing to perform or are changing after the performance. But you can leave your things there.
  8. RopeFest is an open public event, and taking photos or videos is allowed to all Guests of the festival. Therefore, by sending an application for the participation you must be aware of this. By sending in the application you agree to free photo and video footage.
  9. We provide accommodation to participants from other cities during the days of the festival. Please inform us if you need a place to stay, and we will tell you about the accommodation available.


Conditions for the conduction of a seminar or a master class (MC):

  1. The duration of a MC is from 1 up to 1,5 hours.
  2. Seminar duration is 3-3,5 hours
  3. In the application you must present the information about the topic of the seminar or MC, the desirable level of students and the number of students.
  4. MC is free for students and the lecturer is giving the MC for free.
  5. Seminars are additionally paid by the students.

We accept applications from:

  1. Participants (maximum of 21 bondage masters)
  2. Photographers (maximum of 6, 2 per day)
  3. Volunteers.
